Creating a new brand identity and web experience for NSW Central Coast’s largest private psychology practice.

A collaborative approach

The READ Clinic is the largest private psychology practice on the NSW Central Coast, boasting over 22 specialist clinicians and experienced counsellors. They provide a range of adult, child, family and corporate psychological services, programs and therapies. núcleo’s collaborative team of designers, marketing coordinators, and web specialists worked together to develop the READ brand and refresh their website.

Designing a supportive brand

The success of any business relies on a strong brand. Your brand is a promise to your customers. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates you from your competitors. Your brand is derived from who you are and what you stand for. At núcleo, we take the time to get to know your business so we can develop a brand that connects strongly with your business values, integrity and point of difference.

We worked closely with the READ Clinic to produce a new brand that accurately promotes the business. In order to deliver a consistent brand experience, we also built a new website (see further below) and designed associated assets, including corporate stationery, business cards, flyers and other printed materials. Their tagline, “think, feel, thrive”, is a positive representation of READ’s services and values; we decided to give it more prominence by incorporating it into the logo and utilising it throughout their branded materials.

Establishing a visual identity

The READ Clinic’s brand recognition was formerly not visual, but rather was reliant only on the business name. núcleo’s design team used this knowledge for their creative concept, and used the name as the visual identity for the READ brand. This ensured it would continue to resonate with current clients while also attracting a new audience of ideal clientele.

It was essential that the new brand reflect the nurturing, professional, and supportive ideals of the READ Clinic. We styled “READ” with a custom font and combined it with graphic elements to support the name and build the brand in colour and tone. We also added emphasis to each of the READ Clinic’s specialties (adult, child/family and corporate psychological services) by differentiating them with their own colour palette.

Refreshing the online experience

With a new powerful brand in play, it was necessary to revitalise the READ Clinic’s online presence with a website that provided a clean, modern and fresh experience for visitors. The website was built using WordPress, a user-friendly CMS (content management system) that allows READ staff to manage the web content unassisted, including adding new pages. The new brand features prominently across the site through the logo, brand colours and typography. Images of happy, confident people were also included to make the brand feel more approachable and client-focused.

As part of our comprehensive web development services, we built the READ site with fundamental SEO setup (in order to meet metadata requirements that would improve online visibility), and we installed and configured the WooCommerce plugin for optimal user experience. The site was also browser-tested for responsiveness on all desktops, tablets, mobiles and small screens.
