Why we use WordPress
A content management system (CMS) is a web application that allows you to create and edit your website. Our websites are built using a CMS that makes it easier for you to update your content, add images, write blog posts, and generally manage your website without needing to learn how to code.
There are a lot of content management systems to choose from. Joomla, Drupal, ModX — the list goes on. But easily the most accessible and commonly used system is WordPress.
Many of our sites at nucleo use the WordPress CMS. WordPress is a great tool that allows us to create stunning, user-friendly, and optimised websites that are easy for you to update. In fact, there is a fair chance you have come across a WordPress site on the internet already, as there are nearly 80 million of them! And an average of 17 posts are published every second on WordPress sites.
Using WordPress
Part of the reason WordPress is so popular is that it is easy to use. Editing content in WordPress is similar to editing content in a word processor. We can give you training and support on how to get started; plus, there is a lot of information available online, in video format on YouTube, and in advanced WordPress publishing courses. WordPress has developed a strong user/developer community, with many people working behind the scenes to add new features that make it simpler for you to manage your site’s content yourself.
The greatest advantage of using a widely-used system is that you will always be able to find support for almost anything you need to know how to do in WordPress. You will be editing content and maintaining your website like a pro in no time!

We use custom post types to better organise your content into content types, such as events, staff members, and testimonials. This allows us to display content in a format best suited to its type, which makes it easier for you to edit and add content to the correct areas on the site.
Content Styling
We use predefined text styles and colours so it is easy to make your content look consistently great.
Different post types have different predefined editors so that your content looks exactly as it should. And these custom editors can help you to achieve stunning layouts without knowing any HTML or CSS.
Extendable
Because WordPress is such a widely used CMS, we have access to a wide assortment of tools that perform specific tasks within your site, without time-consuming (and expensive) custom development. Image galleries, social network feeds, easily editable and manageable webforms, and multi-layered interactive sliders are just some of the extra tools we might add to your WordPress site, depending on your needs. We don’t use just any of these ‘plugins’ though; we extensively research and test them to make sure you are getting the best, most reliable tools for the job.
