AgTech Finder
AgTech Finder is an innovative platform helping Australian farmers connect with technology solutions tailored to their agricultural needs. Spearheaded by Food Agility CRC and supported by prominent industry leaders like the National Farmers’ Federation, and Meat & Livestock Australia the platform serves as a comprehensive digital directory to search, sort, and compare Agricultural technological products and information.

AgTech required an online platform aligning with the evolving needs of producers, agronomists, and tech vendors. The goal was to create an intuitive, feature-rich site that could streamline decision-making and enhance user engagement. Along with providing a front end interface allowing Agtech Business to add and manage their own products, events and company profiles, adding standardised information into multiple consolidated and easily searchable databases for users to find.
Design
We conducted in-depth research to understand the unique needs of farmers and agribusiness professionals, translating this research into a highly functional and visually appealing user-centred interface for use by multiple user types and information outputs. While also seamlessly incorporating Agtech Finder’s distinct brand identity and visual guidelines.
Development
Using a custom WordPress theme tailored to the design, the AgTech Finder platform development prioritised the creation of a Vendor Portal to facilitate efficient self-management, allowing technology providers to independently manage, update, and publish their own company profile’s, events and product listings without requiring internal staff intervention. This system was architected with a robust front-end user interface featuring several specialised web forms that map directly to the underlying database structure. Key development work involved building custom form logic to maintain data integrity, integrating secure user authentication for profile access.
The front end data-bases featured advanced search and filter tools to allow users to navigate the vast AgTech marketplace with ease, alongside detailed product listings covering pricing, installation, compatibility, and more.
Project Outcomes
The final platform offers a seamless user experience, showcasing AgTech solutions, companies and events. With improved navigation, dynamic content capabilities, and a clear focus on user needs, AgTech Finder is empowering Australian farmers to make informed technology decisions, with readily available and unique information at their fingertips.
The project has positioned the platform as a vital resource in the AgTech landscape, supporting its mission to foster innovation and sustainability in agriculture.
