HVG Building required a website to effectively display their extensive range of decorative building products. The site needed to provide detailed information on materials, finishes, dimensions, and applications for benchtops, cabinetry panels, and splashbacks. It also needed to cater to both trade customers (e.g., cabinet makers, builders) and individual consumers seeking design inspiration and product specifications. The site offers sample ordering to help select the perfect product for any project.
Design
The website design showcased high-quality visuals of the product range in various applications and settings. Clear navigation to different product categories (benchtops, cabinetry, splashbacks), subcategories (e.g., specific materials or finishes), by applications (e.g. Cabinetry, Caravans, Wall Panels) and product types (high-pressure laminates, composite slab, aluminium composite panel) was crucial. The design aims to inspire and inform, providing a user-friendly experience for browsing and selecting products. Technical information, such as material specifications and installation guidelines, is easily accessible. Ordering Samples is a key element of the site to promote conversions.
Development
The website development utilises a custom WordPress theme and customised WooCommerce installation. This allows for product display, sample ordering and integration with the HVG ERP system. Making downloadable resources like brochures, technical data sheets, and installation guides easy to find. Clear contact information for trade professionals and consumers was essential. Sample requests and a searchable distributor map integrated.
