AgTrace Australia is the pioneering body behind the Australian Agriculture Traceability Protocol (AATP). By leveraging decentralised data and verifiable credentials, AgTrace empowers Australian producers to meet rigorous global ESG requirements, ensuring our agricultural exports remain competitive, transparent, and trusted on the world stage.
As global markets—particularly the EU—introduce stricter deforestation and sustainability regulations, the Australian agricultural sector faced a critical challenge: how to prove compliance without burying producers in paperwork. AgTrace Australia required a digital presence that could articulate a complex, world-first technical protocol to a diverse audience of farmers, exporters, and international regulators. The objective was to create an authoritative yet accessible platform that positions AgTrace as the “digital bridge” between the paddock and the global marketplace.

Our strategy focused on demystifying the technology. AgTrace isn’t just a database; it is a sophisticated “pull” mechanism that keeps data at its source. We designed the user experience to reflect this philosophy of transparency and sovereignty. By using clean lines, grounded earth tones, and structured information hierarchies, we ensured that high-level data architecture felt intuitive and reliable to every stakeholder in the supply chain.
The Solution
We designed and built a custom WordPress theme that provides an educational resource and a technical showcase for the AATP’s capabilities.
Key features of the digital solution include:
- Protocol Visualisation: Custom-designed infographics and layouts that explain the decentralised data model, moving away from “black box” technology toward a transparent “tell us once” approach.
- Interactive Case Studies: A dedicated hub showcasing real-world applications—from EUDR compliance in the beef sector to cold-chain integrity for cherry exports—demonstrating the protocol’s versatility.
